No boating-related legislative activity reported this quarter.

 

Third Quarter Report, 2007:

 

The Alabama legislature is out of session at this time.

 

Second Quarter Report, 2007:

 

House Bill 256 was passed into law by the Alabama legislature during this session.  This bill was favored by the Alabama Dept of Conservation.  It increases various boating fees to the exclusive benefit of the Dept. of Conservation’s programs.  All other boating legislation failed to pass.

 

Passed:   SB487 and Companion Bill in the House state that any boat that is over 30 ½ feet long or HP of 500 or greater will be banned from Alabama Power Company Lakes.
