First Quarter Report, 2008:
House Bill HB 2400 (Mandatory Life Jacket Wear) is currently in the Public Safety and DHS Committee and must be reported on by 19 March, or it will not be heard this session. Adam Martignetti, Chief of Staff for Representative Michael A. Costello, Chairman of that Committee indicated that the bill is currently marked to be reported “Favorably” out of committee. It appears that this bill has quite a bit of support and it is quite possible that MA will have a Boater Education Bill on the books by year end 2008. LLO was active in developing relationships with individual legislators involved with boating legislation.
