Third Quarter Report, 2007:

The only item to report is that Senate Bill l262  Act 149  and  House Bill 778  Act 27 , reducing legal Blood Alcohol Content limit for Pennsylvania boaters, was reduced from .10 to .08, and became effective July 2007.

Second Quarter Report, 2007:

No boating-related legislative activity reported this quarter.

Previous Report:

Robert Wecker reports no fourth quarter (2006) legislative activity.  The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission received a proposal to amend boating safety regulations (§97.1) to require the wearing of Coast Guard approved PFDs by all persons when on board boats less than 16 feet in length or any canoe or kayak during the period of October 1 through May 31.  The Commission took no action and.  Personal Watercraft Industry Association will be working to enact an increase in the minimum PWC operating age.  The Fish and Game Commission can do this without legislative approval.  LLO will monitor and report developments.
